Before his academic tenure, he held senior positions in leading technology organizations, including over a decade at Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh as Senior Chief Engineer, where he led AI-enhanced testing automation, agile project delivery, and global release management for next-generation mobile and IoT devices. He has also founded multiple technology ventures, including 4Beats Limited, Gramen Ponno, and Online News Portal 24, promoting digital innovation and startup incubation.

As a faculty and researcher, Dr. Islam teaches and mentors students in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, and Intelligent Systems, integrating practical project-based learning with ethical AI perspectives. He has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals and IEEE conferences, focusing on AI-based estimation models, sustainable smart systems, and intelligent supply chain analytics.

Dr. Islam’s ongoing vision is to advance AI education and research capacity in Bangladesh and Southeast Asia, fostering collaboration between universities, industry, and government toward ethical, inclusive, and sustainable AI innovation.
